THE SCIENCE: HOW IS ELLANSÉ FORMULATED?

Ellansé is a collagen bio-stimulator dermal filler. This means it not only restores volume in the skin, but improves skin quality, laxity and texture by stimulating our own body's collagen, which we stop producing around the age of 30.

It is composed of Polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres and Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) carrier gel – all naturally broken down by the body into carbon dioxide and water and gradually eliminated without leaving any traces in your body.

Ellansé contains smooth, circular microspheres that get to work immediately, filling the areas affected by volume loss. Over time, it works in harmony with your body to stimulate natural collagen production and increase your skin's elasticity.

WHAT DOES ELLANSÉ TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Ellansé is injected in tiny amounts (tailored to each patient's needs). Only one treatment is required and results last up to 2-2.5 years (depending on treatment type). This is a non-invasive aesthetics procedure which requires no recovery time; like all dermal filler treatment, there is a possibility of some bruising, swelling and tenderness at  injection points.

I trained in this treatment with Sinclair Pharma under the expertise of Patricia Molloy, director of the multi award-winning DermaClinic and chair of DANAI (Dermatology Aesthetic Nurses Association Ireland).
